Vaccination has been very effective in averting most childhood diseases and saving more than millions of lives. Between the mid1960s and 2015, more than 10 million lives were saved by viral vaccines such as measles, mumps, rubella, chickenpox and hepatitis A. It is estimated that 6 million people have survived due to vaccines that prevent diseases yearly and the population around the world is expected to reach 10 billion within the next 3 decades as vaccines will help with life expectancy. However, nearly 2 million children under the age of 5 die yearly from vaccine unavailability.
