I am highly interested in Tufts because your program offers the opportunities I need to achieve my goal of becoming an academic trauma surgeon with a focus on global health. I have heard a lot about the excellent surgical training and supportive culture at Tufts from many people, including those who have worked there, such as Drs. Nelya Melnitchouk and Tina Moon. I also value the research opportunities available to residents. Working in Boston over the past two years and presenting at local conferences, I have realized that the New England Surgical Society is exceptional, and I want to train here. Training in Tufts will also allow me to connect closely with nonprofit organizations like Heal Ukraine Group and Global Medical Knowlege Alliance—created by physicians working in different Boston hospitals—to unite efforts in supporting Ukrainian healthcare during challenging times. Furthermore, being in Boston, with its large Ukrainian diaspora, makes me feel at home and supported. This strong sense of community would be a great bonus and make me a very happy resident. I am confident that Tufts will provide the opportunities and support I need to achieve my career goals and make a meaningful impact in the field of surgery.
