In ten years, I see myself as an academic trauma surgeon and a leader in the field, dedicated to teaching and mentoring residents. Having worked in warzones and resource-limited settings, I am committed to using the knowledge, connections, and resources I gain in the US to advance my global health mission of improving healthcare in my homeland, Ukraine, and other low- and middle-income countries through education, research, and quality improvement. Ultimately, I aim to establish robust surgical residency programs in Ukraine that will provide up-to-date surgical training and will significantly enhance surgical care. I have no doubt that Tufts will equip me with the opportunities to achieve this goal.
