I tend to be very self-critical and self-demanding, especially when learning something new or when tasks take longer than expected. Adapting to American healthcare during my internship was initially challenging, and the first few weeks were difficult. I realized that simple tasks in Epic, such as making notes and discharges, were taking longer than anticipated. To overcome this, I reached out to a PGY2 for help, and she taught me how to navigate Epic more efficiently and manage paperwork effectively, which ultimately helped me adapt to US healthcare. I have learned that asking for feedback and assistance when needed makes overcoming challenges easier with proper guidance. While I remain self-critical, this motivates me to work harder and continue seeking feedback from my seniors.
