What I will bring to your program is a commitment to excellent surgical care and academic work, along with being innovative, adaptable, and resilient. My strong clinical and research background was developed through my three-year surgical residency in Ukraine, followed by a two-year research fellowship at Brigham and Women's Hospital's Center for Surgery and Public Health, and then my preliminary intern year at Brigham. I am innovative because, while working in wartime Ukraine and observing significant challenges in healthcare, I created a novel mobile app called HealUA. This app connects Ukrainian physicians with each other and with colleagues worldwide on a secure platform for remote peer-to-peer consultations. I am resilient because, despite significant hardships and the loss of my home, including experiencing the Crimean occupation and working in wartime Ukraine in 2022, I persevered and was able to match as a preliminary resident last year at Brigham.
