The first emperor of China was part of the Qin Dynasty. Its greatest achievement was beginning the Great Wall of China. The Great Wall of China The Great Wall of China is the longest structure ever built. It is an amazing 7300 km long and is more than 2000 years old. It runs from east to west along the border between China and Mongolia, crossing steep mountain ranges and deep valleys. The Wall, made mostly of earth, brick, wood and stone, was built entirely by hand and is one of the great wonders of the world. The Wall, begun by the Qin Dynasty, was completed 1726 years later by the Ming Dynasty. Thousands of people helped in its construction. Many died from injury, disease and starvation and were buried in the thick wall.
