David with the Head of Goliath, also known as the Triumph of David, is one of the most well-known and most represented iconographic themes of the Old Testament. David showing the severed head of the giant enemy Goliath killed, despite the physical gap with the young Jewish shepherd with the use of cunning. The armies of the Jews and the Philistines are lined up, the giant offers to challenge an enemy representative. David asks to fight the king of Israel Saul who accepts by offering him his armor. The young man refuses it because he is not used to weapons. He collects some stones for his sling and courageously faces Goliath. David will become the second king of Israel, after Saul.
