Coat of arms of the Americi family and inscription<break strength="x-strong"/> The inscription commemorates the total renovation of the choir of the collegiate church, paid for by <lang xml:lang="it-IT">Flaminio Americi</lang>, and the relative decoration commissioned in 1603 by Flaminio's son, <lang xml:lang="it-IT">Alessandro Americo</lang>, in memory of his father. <break strength="x-strong"/>From the archival documentation it appears that the family, now extinct, had been permanently resident in Sermoneta since 1422. <break strength="x-strong"/>Without noble titles, it was among the wealthiest in Sermoneta, owners of livestock and real estate, including the family palace, currently the seat of the Municipality.
