Step 6: Configure the distribution. Using SQL Server Management Studio, connect to the publisher. Right click the replication folder. Select Configure Distribution to start the Distribution Configuration Wizard. Choose the publisher server to act as its own distributor (default option). If SQL Server Agent is not running, configure it to start automatically (default option). In Snapshot folder, enter the network path for the shared folder. Finish the wizard using the default values. Please note that errors related to the SQL Server Agent not starting or failing to change starting mode to automatic can be solved in SQL Server Configuration Manager by changing the SQL Server Agent starting mode to automatic and starting the SQL Server Agent.
