The database replication version of the Reporting Database also generates the flat tables of the legacy version, making the Reporting Database compatible with earlier versions. In the legacy version, the Reporting Database service used the Integration Server API to fetch data from the Altitude uCI Server database, and processed data in the service, which could cause delays. The Reporting Database now generates flat tables from stored procedures that will run periodically in the reporting database, fetching data from the replicated database tables and processing it in SQL Server. At every interval period, the stored procedures join data from the replicated database tables, process data, and fills the flat tables. Customers that are querying the flat tables can continue to use their existing queries. By default, the generation of flat tables is disabled. We will later see how to enable it if you need it.
